08/27/2025 We stopped at Blackhorse on our way home, from the airport, for a late night dinner. The host quickly sested us in a comfortable booth. Our waitress, Kylie, was congenial and took our order without haste. We had a huge pretzel as an appetizer. It was delicious! Our drinks and entrees were very good- size portions. Excellent flavor! For all of the food we received, we thought the price was reasonable. 12/27/2024 we had an excellent meal and great drinks.Add black horse, after a day of doing after-Christmas shopping. Our server was so friendly. She really made her experience wonderful. We tried the Blackhorse Pub yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it is. The atmosphere is very nice. The bar is a dark color and looks beautiful. This seating is plentiful and not crowded. The mirrors on the wall give the restaurant dimension. There is a merchandise area with many shirts to choose from, for purchase. Our waitress, Hannah, was excellent. She had a great disposition and provided us with excellent service. The food was delicious. We started with the pretzels and did not realize we'd get three huge pretzels. They were served hot. The dipping sauce of cheese and another of mustard were very good. The prime rib sandwich was delicious, Adding the aujou on the side was a hit. The brussels sprouts were excellent. The Patty melt sandwich was very good, as was the loaded baked potato. I ordered my hamburger medium well. It came out medium. I'm not one to eat red, raw meat, so I left a little on the plate, but the rest of the hamburger was very good. The cocktails are fantastic. I had a strawberry drink that was like a strawberry lemonade with alcohol; it was delicious. They have a good selection of beer. The vanilla cream ale smells good and tastes good. If I had to give suggestions on how to make the restaurant better, I have a couple. 1. Be sure the meat is cooked to order. 2. Have any employees who want to set at the bar or a table after they get off work to change their shirt. It was odd to see employees working and then going to sit at the bar. I didn't know if they were just taking a break and having a drink while working or if they were off work and having a drink with friends. For an outsider, seeing an employee at the bar drinking is a little off-putting. All in all, this restaurant is great for families and adults.

The Blackhorse Pub & Brewery - Alcoa's Hidden Gem for Food, Brews & Patio Vibes The Blackhorse Pub & Brewery is clearly a local favorite in Alcoa, TN -- and after our visit, it's easy to see why. We stopped by on a lively Saturday afternoon with our pup in tow, and the place was buzzing with energy. While I didn't venture inside, the large, covered patio was perfect for us (and the pup). With plenty of shade, fans to keep the air moving, and -- get this -- fly fans on the tables (who knew those existed?!), we were able to relax in comfort without being pestered by bugs. Total win. There's also a spacious faux grassy area with games and lots of seating -- I can only imagine how fun it gets out there during cooler weather with kids and families enjoying the space. Service was excellent across the board -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Our server checked on us often and even made sure the pup was taken care of with a fresh bowl of cold water. Little things like that make a big impression. On the drinks side, I loved that you could sample their brews before committing. Whether you're into flights, full pints, or even just a half, there's something for everyone. Now for the food: the Reuben was a standout -- classic, well-executed, and super satisfying. I paired it with sweet potato fries (extra crispy, just how I asked), and they nailed it. My husband enjoyed his club sandwich, and we also shared the fried green tomatoes. While flavorful, they were a bit too heavy on the breading and the pimento cheese was richer than expected -- probably best enjoyed on cooler days with multiple people. All in all, The Blackhorse hit the mark for us. Great service, solid food, laid-back atmosphere, and a dog-friendly patio? Yes, please. I suspect this may be one of the best spots in the area -- and we wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we're in town.

Tried the Florentine pasta (no ham) with blackened shrimp—so good! The shrimp had the perfect spice and the pasta was super creamy. Definitely ordering this again!

The service here was incredibly fast. We went on a weekday at lunch. Everything we had was delicious. The tomato jam for the fried green tomatoes surprise me, but was very good. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. The flatbread was so big we ended up splitting it and still had a little bit extra. I don’t have a picture of it, but we also ordered a burger with sweet potato fries and the sweet potato fries had the perfect batter on them and were so crispy and yummy. I also ordered one of their mock tails that had apple and ginger in it, and that was REALLY good.

Simple meal had here - just a couple of greek salads. The salads were fine but not spectacular. However the apple crisp for dessert was excellent. Rainy evening so outside space was closed. Inside atmosphere was fine.

Excellent dining experience!! Awesome menu, with a wide variety of great food. I had the prime rib sandwich. It was tasty and the meat was tender! Others in my group had a make-your-own pizza and grilled salmon. Both enjoyed. Lots of TVs for your sports viewing, a full bar, comfortable seating, and great decor. Chaiylne was excellent! Very knowledgeable about the food & drink options. Food was prepared perfectly. Highly recommend!

Hungry Near the Airport? Do Yourself a Solid—Hit Up Blackhorse. Next time you’re near the airport and your stomach starts sounding the alarm, detour to Blackhorse. Your tastebuds will be in heaven. Trust. The vibe? Spot on. Chill and casual with a touch more polish than your average bar food joint. Bonus points for the outdoor patio—a perfect spot to soak up some vitamin D while sipping and snacking. We started with the brussels sprouts (per our waitress’s strong suggestion), and she wasn’t wrong. Crispy, flavorful, and a great kickoff to the meal. For mains, we split the Cowboy Burger and the Chicken Mozzarella Flatbread. Now, anyone can attempt a burger—but this one delivered. Juicy, perfectly cooked medium, and downright crave-worthy. Think “heaven in your mouth.” The flatbread held its own too—light crust, pesto base, and a nice balance of flavors that made it an easy re-order. The one miss? Beer temp. After a long, hot day, we were ready for a frosty one, but the brews showed up lukewarm-ish. Not tragic, but a noticeable letdown. Cold beer matters. Overall? Blackhorse is a gem worth circling on your food map. Once your mouth has its flavor fiesta, come back and high-five me. You’ll know exactly what I mean.
